01.>>>>Jos Microsoft, insa ce punem in loc?!
.(Capital: 09/10/2003)
Nu stiu cum se face, dar tot despre Microsoft o sa scriu astazi:
cu putin
timp in urma, Guvernul a semnat un contract de colaborare exclusiva
cu
Microsoft. Am primit mai multe comunicate in care parteneriatului
i se aduc
acuze cum ca ar ucide in fasa programul "Fabricat in Romania",
lansat acum
trei ani. Adevarul e ca parteneriatul dintre Microsoft si Guvern
mai lasa
putine sanse producatorilor romani de software. O alternativa
ar fi fost
achizitionarea unor produse "open-source", cum ar fi sistemul
de operare
Linux.

02.>>>>Microsoft: betting on education
.(Bussiness Romania: October 2003)
When Romania joins the EU it must have legal IT operating system
licenses.
Microsoft has tried get the country on track by forging a partnership
to
sell licenses to part of the administration. An official at
the Ministry of
IT&C said the state would receive a big discount for licenses,
while the GM
of Microsoft Romania, Silviu Hotaran, said licensing the government
was not
the major aim behind the partnership.

03.>>>>Site-ul care te ajuta sa-ti platesti facturile
.(Capital: 09/10/2003)
Prin www.omnipay.ro este posibil sa se plateasca si amenzi.
Despre
posibilitatea platii prin Internet a facturilor la utilitatile
publice sau
alte servicii s-a vorbit si s-a scris enorm. Concret, s-a facut
destul de
putin. Principala problema in cazul oricarui proiect de digitalizare
a unei
operatiuni care, ani de zile, s-a facut prin mijloace considerate
rudimentare in Vest, a fost si ramane plata efectiva prin mijloace
electronice.

06.>>>>Quietly, Microsoft arrives in Macedonia
.(balkananalysis.com: 30/09/2003)
Most Macedonians had no idea when Microsoft arrived in their
midst several
weeks ago. In August, the company's office in Skopje was still
so new that a
press office had not been set up.

08.>>>>Silenced: Censorship and Control of the Internet
.(Privacy International: September 2003)
This study has found that censorship of the Internet is commonplace
in most
regions of the world. It is clear that in most countries over
the past two
years there has been an acceleration of efforts to either close
down or
inhibit the Internet.

A new report of the European Parliament on public access to
EU institutions
documents shows that real progress has been made since the adoption
a
Regulation on the matter in May 2001, but that a number of shortcomings
remain as regards transparency.

12.>>>>Deloitte offers new approach to ROI evaluation
on government IT
investment
.(Consultant - News.com: 26/09/2003)
A study by Deloitte Research offers a new approach for evaluating
the return
on investment (ROI) of government technology investments. According
to the
study, public sector organizations should evaluate information
technology
(IT) investments not only by the cost savings they generate
for government,
but by the financial benefits they create for citizens and businesses.
The
study brings a new dimension to the valuation of IT, suggesting
a direct
correlation between e-government and economic competitiveness.
